Our education programme
We’re passionate about education at Streetlife.
Education doesn’t just bring equality, but gives our children, many of whom come from very deprived backgrounds, hope and a focus for the future.
We began our educational sponsorship programme with just 10 children, who were able to finish secondary school as a result of our generous supporters.
At the moment Streetlife is able to give educational sponsorship to 250 children. We are now in Kapiri, Kapoto, Ndola, Lufwanyama, Zambezi, Kitwe, and of course from the Grace Centre.
Get involved.

In Zambia, fees at all secondary schools mean many children drop out of the education system at the age of 13. Sponsorship means that children can continue their education in Grade 8 and beyond, with some of our first sponsored children now graduating from college to enter the working world.
At primary school level, sponsorship provides the resources to buy a child a pair of shoes, a uniform, school books, and something for their lunch.
Our founder Lillian Mwila says: “Our education programme is so important to me because it gives the children confidence and our motto is rebuilding confidence.

“We are aiming to put smiles back on children’s faces and it is amazing to see so many of the children to get back into school, become happy and confident again, and have a hope that there is something for them for the future.
“It also shows the children the love of God – that God came and that He loves all the children, across the board. My passion started with street children on the streets of Kitwe but through the education programme we are trying to prevent more children ending up on the streets.”
