Streetlife stories

Precious Njovu

I go to Matete Secondary School and I enjoy school very much! That’s where we interact with friends, do a lot of sports and learn a lot too.

My favourite subjects are maths and English. I enjoy English because it is an important language to learn – everybody in the whole world speaks English!

I was first given shoes through Streetlife when I was in Grade 2, and I have just started Grade 10.

I really look forward to getting the shoes! I am very excited about wearing them to school on Monday after being given them at the weekend

Streetlife means a lot – for me I would have stopped school at the end of Grade 3 because my mum couldn’t afford to pay me school fees but now I am about to start Grade 10 because of Streetlife. I am very grateful for Streetlife.

When I grow up I want to go to university and be a medical doctor.

Streetlife has really changed my life.

I was sponsored from Grade One and I am now training as a nurse –  in one year’s time I will be able to complete my college work and start working.

Streetlife means a lot to me – it’s like my pillar.
